Happy 10th Anniversary!

Ten years ago today (December 2, 1995),  I (Kelly) woke up with the most wonderful feeling of excitement and a deep internal peace.  It was my wedding day.  Surrounded by my family and dearest friends I married my best friend and the absolute love of my life. I was so in love and so grateful and so excited to be the one marrying Randy Vaughn.  We had dated for 2 years and I knew well that he was an amazing man.  I had never met someone like him. He loved the Lord with passion and desired to serve Him with all of his heart.  Second to his love for Jesus, I was confident of his love for me.  He was the most romantic, thoughtful, creative, kind, sensitive, handsome hunk of a man that I had ever known.  I imagined at that moment that the days to come would be filled with every different type of emotion and experience.  How could I have really imagined all that lay ahead?  In the ten years that have followed that wonderful day, I have grown deeper and deeper in love with this incredible guy! All of the qualities that I observed in him when we were dating are still there and have deepened and matured with experiences that have taken us through the range of emotions.  We have walked through exhilarating joys and journeyed through valleys of confusion and sorrow.  Regardless of the circumstances, there has been such great comfort in being at his side.  The Lord has blessed us from his abundance.  We are still young in our marriage and I pray that we are among those who will someday give testimony of 50 years or more of being together.  I love my husband. My life is sweet. I smile in anticipation of the days to come.
I love you Randy.

10 years...I well remember the day myself...It was great, everything a wedding should be and I loved every moment of it. I remember listening to you talk to your friends and you saying "I would of waited 40 more years to have what I have with Randy." What a perfect testimony to the Lord's ability to bring the best at just the perfect time! I look forward to celebrating the 50 year mark with you two. I am so thankful that you married Randy. I love watching him love you and laugh with you. He is an answered to a million prayers we prayed for you...and in the Lord's goodness He answered prayers I never even articulated- in giving me a brother-in-law who is one of my very best friends, who I love laughing with. May the Lord's love continue to pour over you and through your marriage...

So much love-
Beck

I also just remembered when you guys got your video of your wedding and asked if me and Sam and Andy wanted to watch it...8th grade Andy said, "Is it shorter on tape?"

10 Years! that is great! COngratulations. Unlike Becky, I remember very little about that day. Just pictures and a happy older sister. I am so thankful for both of you and praise the Lord that he brought Randy into my life as well as kelly's. You guys are both the best and deserve nothing less than eachother (I mean that in a good way) Take care and get to feeling better!

Happy Anniversary to you Kelly, my beautful bride! To make the world's longest blog comment, here’s my TOP TEN for our TENTH ANNIVERSARY:

10.
I love the special way you make our home a refuge of peace, rest, joy and authenticity…a place where I can be “at home”…I love your love for music that lifts up the Name of our God, such music permeates the many rooms of our house. This place is truly peaceful.

9.
I am inspired by your impressive spiritual gift of exhortation…among many opportunities you have to glorify Christ and strengthen the Body, I love to hear you speak passionately about the things that please our God…your words have been known to persuade the hearts of many (I like it better when other people are the recipients of such strong words! )

8.
I am strengthened by your fervent attitude of perseverance…in spite of physical and environmental challenges of life in West Africa, you have never given up, even though both of us have had passing thoughts to do so! While your hubby gets his handsome-hunk-beauty sleep (your words), you’ll get up with any one of the kids if they are crying, or needing a hug in the middle of the night. Our poor kids would suffer so much if it was up to their Daddy for middle-of-the-night parental care. I’m still reminded of the first few months with Tori, however, when you yelled at me through the baby monitor to give you a hand with the baby in the middle of the night!! One of my fondest memories.

7.
I would imagine anyone who reads this blog could see that our family loves the celebration…birthdays, special days, holidays, whatever occasion we can create to show love to our children and making our homelife fun and memorable…I love that you enjoy that too!

6.
On that note, I love watching you shower God’s gracious and vast love on each one of our children…I never see any of them lacking hugs throughout the day nor hearing words of love spoken from their mother. Even when the days are long, the power is off, the water is cut off, homeschooling is tiring, and one of the kids is sick, you overwhelm them with the confidence and security of your love for them.

5.
I am so very blessed to be a man whose name is brought to the throne of heaven on a daily basis by my very best friend, my wife. What a mess I would be were it not for your intercession!

4.
I am blessed by the importance you place on friends…so many cherished girlfriends who you can count on to rally to your side in a time of need (I’m thankful for all of you who play such a part in my Kelly’s life!) I love it that you enjoy sharing intimately with your friends, desiring fellowship, sacrificing time, seeking to bless others, and encouraging one another. Your circle of friends blesses me.

3.
I am fortified in my own faith by your confidence in the Most High God…confident that He is present at all times and anywhere…confident of His generous provision through His creative ways…confident that the Word of God is truth and is useful for many good things…and confident that He did love the world so much to send Christ, not only to be OUR Savior, but to be the Redeeming One who rescues the souls of men of every nation…I love sharing your passion for Christ and ministering alongside of you wherever we are.

2.
I am sustained with a powerful fuel for life because my wife speaks words of hope, words of promise, words of faith, words of love, words of trust, words of confidence and words of blessing into my heart and mind EVERY DAY. It seems small to call you a helpmate....

1.
Oh, my beautiful bride…your stunning beauty stirs my heart each morning, throughout the day, and as we bid the day farewell…you are more attractive to me each and every day…I look back to our day of vows (and the two years of dating), and I know why I my desire for you propelled me to seek your hand in marriage…I look at you 10 years later and I amazed that the most gorgeous woman in the world is married to me! (here comes the “amen’s” from the audience!) My lovely bride, my SBG…my heart stills swells at the thought of you! I am the lucky one.

-Randy
