Enjoying Mom & Dad's Visit - MONDAY

We’re enjoying Mom and Dad being here. Last night, we enjoyed a time-honored tradition for missionaries: opening gifts brought from America! Mom and Dad brought several bags and they were stocked with goodies to eat and fun stuff for the kids. They also brought several items to bless some of our Aja friends. We stayed up until midnight opening all 7 bags. Some of you reading this were among those who sent some of the items we opened…THANK YOU! What a blessing! We arrived at our home in Aplahoue yesterday evening (about a 2-hour drive from Cotonou). We’ve had a restful morning so far…a good rain during the night and sprinkling this morning…a blessing! It’s been so dry the past 2 months….all of our farming friends (99.9% of the Aja people!) are all smiles while out planting their crops this morning. Thank you Lord!

Tonight we are having several of our close Aja friends over for a dinner at our house with Mom and Dad. They brought gifts for all of them plus some of their kids or spouses. That’ll be fun. Tomorrow will be a memorable day…our evening meal will be at Ega’s house…the first time Ega has hosted anyone in his house since his wife passed away. Probably will be very emotional for all of us. That’ll be tomorrow evening…we’ll write more about that later. All our kids love having Nana & Papa around…always full of love and new gifts! They love it. I am so thankful they made the long journey here…what a special gift!

How fun!! I love getting the updates. Keep sending pics if you can if you have them. Make sure Mom eats a good dose of Pot Rouge for me!!!HA Hopefully he'll serve the "turkey chunks" (which certainly didn't taste like any turkey I'd ever eaten. Oh, the memories of a meal with Ega. Seriously, I can't wait to hear all about that experience. It was truly one of my best memories from last year. Love you guys!!!
